Houston is hot. Objectively. Temperatures exceed 90º F (32ºC) over 100 days per year. It’s humid. Average rainfall is 49.8 inches (1260mm) per year. And it is not uncommon for it to be hit by hurricanes, tropical storms and tornadoes.
Houston is a sophisticated urban environment, full of busy people living city lives. Exactly where brands need to be to reach their audiences.
This is where the Praevar Placard works best. A digital display that stays cool in the intense heat, is sunlight readable to stand out in the glare of the midday sun and is brilliant in the twilight and the dark. It’s also energy efficient, robust and easy to maintain. Praevar's Pantheon Telemery is a self-monitoring system that communicates the unit’s health to the network control center.
Houston CityCenter: About the site
Houston City Centre is a 50 acre mixed use mall complex on the west side of downtown Houston with over 15,000 visitors per day counted. There are 38 advertising locations across the area, featuring free standing plinths on outdoor avenues as well as wall mounted displays.
The Praevar Placard VP 75 was selected by the outdoor media team after extensive testing against common environmental conditions in Houston:

The Praevar Placard VP75 operating system is agnostic, which means it is easily integrated with the media agency’s CMS, and its own reporting and proof of play management system.
The signs are connected to the agency network using a 4G cellular router. The digital signage network also features triptych configurations, which synchronises content across 3, side-by-side, portrait displays.
The Praevar Placard VP75, utilizes reliable proprietry heat pipe technology eliminating the need for filters and maintenance and allows for a completely weather sealed display.
